Murano glass and brass chandelier by Barovier & Toso, Italy, 1940s
Fascinating Murano chandelier, attributable to Barovier & Toso, made in Venice around the 1940s. The oval structure is constructed with elegant hand-blown glass canes, shaped into curves and twists that create a delicate play of light. Two cup-shaped diffusers in ribbed glass rest under the frame, softening the light beam and reflections. The frame and ornaments are in gilded brass, with a central stem and a rosette in worked glass that embellish the whole. The original suspension cable and the patina on the metal bear witness to decades of history. Dimensions: width 65 cm, height 100 cm, depth 20 cm. Perfect for enhancing entrances, dining rooms or living rooms with a touch of authentic Venetian splendor.
