Description

Refined Italian coffee table from the 1950s, made in the style of Fontana Arte and representative of the design culture of post-war Italian modernism.

The circular glass top is centrally secured by a brass element in the shape of a stylized flower, a distinctive detail that serves both a structural and decorative function. This central fixture lends visual balance to the composition and becomes the aesthetic fulcrum of the entire piece.

The base is composed of three curved wooden elements that converge around a central disk, creating a dynamic yet harmonious structure. The tapered legs streamline the silhouette, while the interplay of clear glass, warm wood, and patinated brass creates a refined textural contrast.

The wood has been restored and polished with shellac, a traditional technique that enhances the surface’s depth and natural brilliance. The brass parts retain their original patina, testifying to the piece’s authenticity and character.

Sculptural yet functional, this coffee table lends itself as a central element in a refined living room or as a design complement in a modernist interior.
