Description

Art Deco iridescent ceramic vase produced by Fantinelli Faenza, Italy, 1930s

This refined iridescent ceramic lustre vase dates back to the 1930s and is a true masterpiece of Italian Art Deco, made by the famous Fantinelli workshop in Faenza. With a height of 35 cm and a diameter of 25 cm (body and base), its silhouette is perfectly balanced: a wide and almost spherical body, which tapers into a cylindrical neck and opens into a slightly flared edge, ideal for enhancing flowers or ornamental branches.

Modeled and glazed entirely by hand, the vase features an iridescent lustre surface that captures the light, returning delicate pearlescent shades of pink, aquamarine, sage green and antique gold reflections. A rich relief of stylised waves envelops the central part, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow and giving the object a pleasant tactile depth.

In the lower section, the enamel evolves into a warm, opaque cinnamon shade, before returning to cooler metallic reflections on the foot. The signature “Fantinelli – Faenza” remains imprinted on the bottom, a guarantee of authentic period production. A versatile piece, capable of fitting elegantly into both a classic context and a contemporary setting, perfect as an element of great personality in an art or design collection.
