Description

Murano glass chandelier by Gino Poli Sotis, Italy, 1970s

This fascinating pendant lamp from the 70s, designed by Ettore Fantasia and Gino Poli for Sotis Murano, best expresses the material experimentation and refinement of Venetian artistic glass.

The large diffuser is entirely handcrafted in transparent glass using the “pulegoso” technique, which involves the deliberate inclusion of small air bubbles within the glass mass, creating a soft, luminous texture that diffuses light with a velvety effect.

To interrupt and enhance the transparent surface, a horizontal band of “lattimo” glass — opaque white glass rich in microcrystals — elegantly crosses the dome, adding a distinctive and sophisticated graphic detail.

A rare and spectacular piece, perfect for enhancing modern, eclectic or vintage environments with a light point rich in personality and history.
