Description
A rare copper weathervane from the early 1900s, featuring a three-dimensional composition depicting a harbor lighthouse. The scene is constructed with a simple yet highly decorative language: the lighthouse extends vertically at the center of the composition, while at the base and sides, volumes reminiscent of buildings or harbor structures appear, creating a powerful maritime atmosphere.
The rendering of the subject gives the piece an almost sculptural presence, quite different from traditional, more linear weathervanes. The directional tail and compass rose with cardinal letters complete the object, underscoring its original function. The copper surface features a beautiful antique patina, with burnished highlights and traces of green oxidation that accentuate its authentic charm.
It is an object of notable personality, ideal for collectors of nautical antiques, folk art and decorative pieces with an architectural taste.
Dimensions: 54 x 54 x 60 cm.
